WXPU-TV (channel 65) is a television station in Nashville, Tennessee, United States, affiliate with MyNetworkTV. Owned by Dorado Media, the station maintains studios on Eastland Avenue in the Lockland Springs section of Nashville; it's transmitter facilities are located along I-24 in Whites Creek.

History[]

As an independent station[]

The station signed on the air on February 18, 1984, as independent station WLUV-TV. The station maintained a general entertainment format featuring cartoons, sitcoms, movies and drama series. The station originally operated from studios located on Elm Street in downtown Nashville.

As a UPN affiliate[]

On January 16, 1995, the station became an affiliate of the United Paramount Network (UPN), and began branding itself as "UPN 65". By then, the station was owned by Tennessee Broadcasting. In 2002, AZ Broadcasting bought WLUV outright.

As a MyNetworkTV affiliate[]

On February 22, 2006, News Corporation announced the formation of MyNetworkTV, a sister network to Fox that would affiliate with WB and UPN stations that were not named as affiliates of fellow upstart network The CW.  In February 2006, WLUV, along with most of AZ's WB and UPN affiliates, was announced as a charter affiliate of MyNetworkTV. On September 5 of that year, the station changed its on-air branding to "My 65" and carried the last three weeks of UPN programming outside of prime time during the late night hours.

On March 30, 2018, the station's call letters were changed to WXPU-TV, with its on-air branding changing to "My NVTV."

Sale to Dorado Media[]

On April 13, 2017, following problems arising poor performance in stations, and ownership regulations, AZ Broadcasting's company founder MXSaniel stepped down from his position as owner and was required to sell off his stations. Following this decision, it was announced that AZ Broadcasting would be sold off to Dorado Media. The sale was approved.
