The station first broadcast in 1978. The TV station was home to a local favorite known as The Late Night Georgia Talk Show. When WGGA became a JFN affiliate some WGGA progams stayed on such as The Late Night Georgia Talk Show, 6's News at 6 AM and 8 PM. The channel switching over to JFN caused a lot of people to wanted WGGA to go back to an independent stattion. On February 28, 2017 the station will go back to an independent and JFN will move to a new station.
