WCRE (channel 16) is atelevision station in Charlottesville, Virginia, United States, serving as the Charlottesville areas WBN affiliate. It is owned by Sala Media Group.

WCRE was a pioneering superstation in the United States, on December 19, 1981, it became one of the first television stations to be made available via satellite transmission to cable and direct-broadcast satellite subscribers nationwide. Until WBN affiliated with the station in 2003, it was available statewide via translators.
