Fictionaltvstations Wiki

WRVE-TV, virtual and VHF channel 6, is a Fox owned-and-operated station, licensed to Shy Guy Village, and serving the Faire Town region of the Mushroom Kingdom state of South Edenia. The station is owned by the Fox Television Stations subsidiary of Fox Corporation. Syndicated programming on WRVE include King of the Hill, Two and a Half Men, Storm Stories, Match Game, and Jeopardy.

History[]

The station originally signed on the air as an ABC affiliate on October 2, 1950 as WFTW-TV. The station was owned by Kretz Broadcasting of Piggy Island, first broadcasting from an old Towne Square building in downtown Faire Square. When the station first launched, it was a primary ABC affiliate, also being secondary with NBC, CBS, and DuMont.

Ownership with WRVR[]

From 1958 onward, the station was and currently is a sister station to WRVR-TV channel 8 in the Koopa Upstate, thanks to Kretz selling WFTW to Storer Broadcasting in 1958, which also led to WFTW changing its callsign to the present-day WRVE-TV, which stands for "Rovee", a counterpart to WRVR, which was primarily called "Rover".
