"Kanal Dizi" (stylized as: kdzi) is a free-to-air general entertainment channel in the Philippines owned by 21 Communications Co. Ltd. and the only multilingual drama channel in the Philippines. The said channel was launched in December 31, 2008 and aired officially on January 3, 2009 after the shut down of Oracle due to low viewership and bankruptcy. Drama programs were produced and made by four different production companies; Kanal Dizi Entertainment (Turkish and Filipino), 123Frames (formerly Excel-Scenario Entertainment) (Thai and Filipino), TeleCinco (Spanish; particularly from Mexico, Colombia and Venezuela) and Surplus Entertainment (Bahasa Indonesia, Filipino and Cebuano) which is distributed and supplied to the channel. Kanal Dizi is not only offers drama programming but it also airs news programming highly produced by 21 Communications Co. Ltd. for responding emergencies and news advisories.

Kanal Dizi operates Mondays-Fridays from 3:30 AM–1:00 AM, Saturdays at 6:00 AM–1:50 AM, and Sundays at 5:00 AM–1:50 AM. During its first test broadcast, in January 3, 2009, it operates from 7:00 AM–12:00 AM. However, during Holy Week, it continues to sign off from Maundy Thursday until Easter Sunday at 7:00 AM. The channel's master control facilities and studios were located in Iligan City (specifically in Barangays Poblacion, San Miguel and Buruun), while the cooperate office is located in Izmir, Turkey. In mid-2009, studios were established and added in Istanbul and in Mandaluyong City, Philippines.

Kanal Dizi launches its HD version on October 11, 2017 and it is available on Channel 229 in all satellite dishes. In July 3, 2021, the channel's cooperate offices are added and located in Barangay Poblacion and Del Carmen, incl. studios and master control facilities.

Oracle are both fair on ratings and both aired together, Oracle struggled to achieve shares because of the low viewership and went bankrupt on December 29, 2019, the company decided to launch a new channel filled with original drama programming, which is called "Kanal Dizi", which is launched the year after the bankruptcy. It was a wise decision made by the company before the former network's shutdown. Some of the programs from Oracle are moved and rebranded to the said channel, particularly programs like "Warta Berita" (now rebranded as Berita Terkini).

Programming[]

Mainly targeting the young adult and adult demographics, Kanal Dizi's programming currently consists of multilingual dramas (aired weekly), reandealityand entertainment news programs from the U.S. and Australia. The network also produces and/or airs local programming, including news programs. The network is also popular for its live commentary program in Cebuano-language; such as Kumbati VisMin produced by 21 Communications Co. Ltd. which airs on weekdays at 17:30 (UTC +8; lately moved in the earlier time slot at 17:00 UTC +8) after Turkish-Filipino children drama, Küçük Aşk Mucizeler which is the only weekday drama of the channel. The network is highly been acclaimed by viewers because of airing full-length "boys love" dramas, which has resulted in groundbreaking high viewership.

Digital On-Screen Graphic (DOG) Placements[]

The channel's logo was placed in different directions depending on the program.

  • For drama shows and telenovelas (Kuswantara, Lovers in Lansangan, Las Sombras del Pasado , etc.), the channel logo is placed at the bottom right of the screen.
  • For news programs, the channel logo is placed at the top left of the screen.
  • For reality shows and other format, the channel logo is placed at the top right of the screen.
  • During commercial breaks, the channel's DOGs disappeared.

Streaming Service[]

Kanal Dizi has its streaming service app, called KDZI Play which was launched on December 23, 2017. The streaming service is now available on Google Play (for Android Users) and iOS Users through Apple. Users can also watch the episodes on the desktop version by logging on to the channel's official website.

Affiliates[]

Kanal Dizi will soon establish two different affiliate TV stations by the end of the year. The said affiliates will be established in two different cities in the Philippines; Cagayan de Oro and Mandaluyong City. These affiliates will be on relay broadcast.
