WMCP is the MyNetworkTV-affiliated station serving Cocoa, Rockledge, Titusville, Melbourne, Palm Bay and all of the Florida Space Coast. It broadcasts on channel 32.

Station History[]

WMCP signed on the air by Space Coast Broadcasters, Inc. on January 1, 1950 as a CBS affiliate. When it signed on, it was the first television station on the Space Coast. WMCP remained a CBS affiliate until 1995 due to low ratings. On January 16, 1995, WMCP became a charter affiliate of the full-fledged United Paramount Network (UPN). In 2006, following the merger of UPN and The WB, WTUS' .2 subchannel switched over to The CW. However, News Corporation was planning on a new network called "MyNetworkTV" with WMCP as its charter affiliate. Space Coast Broadcasters signed an affiliation agreement on July 30, 2006. It remained locally owned until Spring 2011 when a joint venture between Krueger Broadcasting and BeloOne acquired the station and made it a part of the Florida Television Network. On March 25, 2016, BeloOne sold its stake in WMCP and the Florida Television Network back to Krueger Broadcasting. It was sold to Galaxy Broadcasting on July 7, 2016. On Sept. 7, the station was sold to Tribune Broadcasting. On Jun. 1, 2020. Tribune Broadcasting the station was sold to Sinclair Broadcast Group.
