Arutz Zap (Zap Channel, Hebrew: ערוץ זאפ) is a children's television channel that was founded in December 15, 1993 named after Channel 1 (now known as Kan 11)'s children's programming block, it was founded as Arutz Ping Pong. It is the second Israeli free-to-air children's television channel after Arutz HaYeladim in 1989.

Unlike Arutz HaYeladim, which broadcasts on Cable, Satellite and IPTV, Arutz Zap broadcasts on every Israeli TV platforms.

The channel broadcasts a variety of both Israeli and foreign live-action shows, cartoons, films, specials and events in both modern and classic from Hop!, Luli TV, WIZ, Hop! Retro, Arutz HaYeladim, Logi, FOMO, Buzz, Yoyo, Arutz HaRetro, Gal, XTREME, Cinemagic, Kids' Music, Arutz HaMevugarim Tzeirim, Arutz HaSa'asuonim VeSport LeYeladim, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr, Nicktoons, TeenNick, Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney/Fox Kids Play/Jetix Play/Disney Junior/Disney Jr, Fox Kids/Jetix/Disney XD, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Cartoonito, Boing, Tooncast, Discovery Kids, JimJam, Arutz Junior, Mini Junior, Zoom, Mini Zoom, Minimax, CBeebies, Yalduti, Shirei Yalduti, BabyTV, BabyFirst and DreamWorks Channel, that can be etiher dubbed (with Hebrew subtitles) or subtitled, the channel also broadcasts the Kdam Eurovision (Kdam Junior Eurovision in 2018), the Eurovision Song Contest (since 1995) and Junior Eurovision Song Contest (since December 7, 2007 (2005) and December 8, 2007 (2006), even though Israel only participated in said event in 2012, 2016 and 2018, it still broadcasts on said channel) unlike Arutz HaYeladim. The channel broadcasts shows from the former children's programming block of the same name.

The channel also broadcasts children's shows from the Israeli Educational Television/Kan Hinuchit.

The channel has its own streaming Zap BOX, which includes the shows and the movies.

This channel is a joint-venture of Israeli Broadcasting Authority/Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, The Second Authority for Television and Radio, R.G.E. Group (as the only children's channel to be not part of NOGA Zebra Communications), Keshet Media Group, Reshet, Telad and Talit Communications (Israeli Educational Television from 1993-2018).

History[]

Arutz Zap was launched on December 15, 1993 with an episode of The Care Bears Family followed by the Disney movie Cinderella.

In 2024, the channel teamed up with Arutz HaYeladim, Nickelodeon Israel and Zoom to create a remake clip of Tnu Ligdol BeSheket by Shlomi Shabat and the presenters of said channels and teamed up again with Arutz HaYeladim and Nickelodeon Israel to broadcast shows and movies for the first anniversary of October 7 (foreign date).

The channel is mostly teams up with Arutz HaYeladim, Zoom, Nickelodeon Israel, Cartoon Network Israel, Discovery Kids Israel, Junior and Disney Channel Israel on events, co-productions, co-operations and more.
