Apple Network is an American subscription general entertainment television network owned by Apple Inc. and operated by Apple Network Corporation.
History[]
Apple Network was first put into development in 2010, when the people of Apple decided they were ready to launch a television network, leading to a television network being put into development, and Apple Network Corporation being built around the network's development.
The network, soon named Apple Network, was to begin its broadcasting on February 8, 2011 as a pay television network.
The network began its broadcast with a network promo, followed by Sonic X on February 8, 2011, Sonic X being part of a number of acquired programs on Apple Network. The network quickly received viewership, especially because Apple finally joined the television business. The New York Times called the network a "visual sensation for all kinds of entertainment viewers."
In 2015, Apple Network became a subscription television, and became headquartered at the newly-built Apple Television Building.
