America's Talking is a cable news channel owned and operated by ONE Media Corporation. Taking it's name from the former network that would become MSNBC, America's Talking was launched in 2014 and quickly one of the top news networks in country, trailing only QTV News and ABN News. Their slogan is "If it's important to YOU, it's important to US!"

History[]

Following the successful launch of Trio Sports Network in 2013, ONE Media Corporation was looking to get into the news business. ABN News was the top dog in the news company, followed by FOX News and CNN. MSNBC was a distant 4th. So ONE Media Corporation decided that they should launch a news channel that has a moderate approach (since some accuses FOX News of being too conservative and both CNN and MSNBC to liberal). The key thing was coming up with a name for the network. After some studying, they focused on America's Talking. The name came from a former network that was on from 1994–96, when they became MSNBC. ONE Media Corporation CEO Lawrence Furdge made the announcement that on Sept. 3, 2014, a new prospective in news will launch with a new network. Furdge then named Isaac Tanner General Manager and charged him with making the network a hit.

A slow rise to respectability[]

On Sept. 3, 2014, America's Talking was talking with The Early Show (not to be confused with the former CBS morning news program). By the end of the year, America's Talking's ratings started to climb, and by the end of the 2014-15 season, America's Talking finished a strong fourth behind ABN News, FOX News, and CNN. With the launching of QTV News, America's Talking managed to hold their ground.

Merger with The WB News[]

Following the news that The WB and WBTV was going to merge into The WB, questions were risen about the fate of The WB News (one of America's Talking competitive). For a while those questions were unanswered until Aug. 30, 2017, when Capital Cities (owners of The WB News) announced plans to sell off The WB News so that they would focus on running The WB following the merger of WB and WBTV. ONE Media Group made the purchase, and announced plans of merging the networks together, with the merger to take place on Sept. 4, 2017 (Labor Day).
