ABS Television Hiroshima was an ABS Television Network affiliate that served the Chugoku region of Japan.

History[]

ABS Television Hiroshima was founded in 1992 as part of ABS' expansion, and as part of the network's 5th anniversary.

The network was added to Kabushiki Gaisha ABS' affiliates register in 1999.

Kenji Yukimura, owner of Kabushiki Gaisha ABS, announced that ATH was to shut down in 2015 to make way for a new affiliate station.

Closure[]

Kabushiki Gaisha ABS announced that ATH would be shut down with immediate effect at 15:00 JST on the 20th of June, 2015.

The last ever programme shown on ATH was the premiere episode of PaRappa The Rapper. The station closed at 13:30 JST, and shut down its transmitters at 17:00 JST. Employees who worked for ATH will be transferred to other TV stations in the area.

A simulcast of ABS' flagship channel (intended for the Kanto region) was shown on channel 5 as a "transitional" service, using ATH's old transmitters. Kabushiki Gaisha ABS replaced the station with the Chugoku Television System (CTS) in mid-August.
